Albert Milton Phillips Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Albert Milton Phillips, known by his family and friends as "Al", 83, passed away on May 26, 2021 at home. He was born in Houston, Texas on August 1, 1937 to the late Ida Bell Bailey and Arthur M. Phillips. Al grew up in Bullard, Texas. He graduated from Lamar University out of Beaumont, Texas and his first job was with Mobile Oil Co. in 1957. Al also worked with E.I. DuPont before he was employed by Goodyear in 1964 as a Credit Manager trainee. He went on to hold several management positions and retired from Goodyear after 51 years of service. During his career at Goodyear, Al was driven to success by "Turning challenges into positive (individual and company) opportunities by presenting sound business programs." He held steadfast to the fact that "a great leader is someone who is a good listener with sound business practices. Life is not a one-way street." Al's motto in life was "Work hard, play hard/fair and enjoy life." He was married to the love of his life Carolyn "June" Russell and they had four children; daughters Terri McNeil and Janine Brinson and sons Jeff and Craig who was awaiting Al's arrival in Heaven. Al loved his family and his 7 grandchildren were his pride and joy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
