Billie Ruth Squires Mullis

Billie Ruth Squires Mullis, 71, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. She was born on January 8, 1951, in Charlotte, NC, daughter to the late William Austin Squires and Myrtle Fisher Squires. In addition to her parents, Billie is also preceded in passing by her former spouse Gene Mullis. Billie was a wonderful stay at home mom until her daughters were teenagers. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for a nursing home and realized her love of caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Billie earned her certificate nursing assistant from Central Piedmont Community College. Billie fiercely loved being a mother and grandmother. She held her family and loved ones very close to her heart. She is survived by her children Karen Suzanne Grimm (David) and Leslie Hope Benoit (Matthew); grandchildren Anna Katharine Grimm and Logan Eugene Grimm; sisters, Jane Darnell, Susan Bridges and Jennifer Digons; and brothers, Danny Squires and Larry Squires. The family would like to say thank you to Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church for their continual prayers, visits and inspirational cards. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive Matthews, NC 28104. Service will follow at 11:00AM.
