    Cynthia A. Oates

    September 25, 1957 - August 30, 2021

    Cynthia Ann Oates, 63, was granted her wings on August 30, 2021. She was the first child born to the union of the late Earl Robinson, Jr., and Josephine Mills Jones. Cynthia was born September 25, 1957, in Union County. She graduated from Independence High School in 1975 afterwards she pursued her passion for helping and serving others. She retired from the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System as the Child Nutrition Manager at Hawk Ridge Elementary. Her hobbies and interests included growing flowers and shopping for home décor. Cynthia joined Matthews Murkland Presbyterian Church at an early age. At Matthews Murkland, she devoted her life to Christ as a member of the choir, deacon board, hospitality committee, and the women’s ministry. She leaves to cherish her fondest memories, her husband Eddie Oates of 42 years, daughter Deaundra Oates (Juan), son Eddie Oates, Jr. Two sisters Sandra Peake (Steven) and Francina Young (Joseph). Three brothers, Maurice Robinson, Reginald Robinson, and Adolphus Jones III (Leah). Two aunts, Martha Mackey, and Darlene McCain. A loving host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, honorary family, and friends. Funeral Services were held privately on September 3rd 2021 at Heritage Funeral Home Indian Trail Chapel with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Mint Hill.
