Dale F Mcwhirter, 71 years old went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 29th 2021. A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 11:00AM-12:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home Indian Trail Chapel with a service beginning at 12:00PM. He was born in Mecklenburg county. Proceeded in death by his father Boyd F McWhirter, Mother Julia Williams McWhirter and brother Jerry Lee McWhirter. Surviving siblings, brother Roger McWhirter/wife Margaret, Sister Brenda Benton/ husband Yates. Dale married his high school sweetheart Cathey Hartis McWhirter on December 18th 1969 The love of his life as they just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. They had 2 children. Son Chris Mcwhirter/ wife Rene. Daughter Amy McWhirter Glidewell/husband Chris. Dale had 9 grandkids, Matt, Madison, Abby/ husband Hunter, Dallas, Cariss, Cainan, Jacob,Slayde and Brielie. Who all loved him very much and will cherish every memory they have with him. Dale was honorably discharged from the U.S Army. He did construction work most of his life. Enjoyed building things and working on cars. Loved helping people, especially friends and neighbors. He loved going to the beach and fishing for hours! Family and friends were always very important for Dale.
