Edith Ann Miles

December 29, 1934 - January 22, 2022

Edith Ann Miles 87, of Indian Trail passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2022 surrounded by friends and family. Edith is preceded in death by her parents Glen Woodworth and Elsie Warren, her son Richard Miles Jr who passed away on March 17, 1975. She is also preceded in death by her 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Richard Miles. Edith and Richard married on September 22, 1956 and spent a lifetime of happiness and love together. Edith is survived by her three children Cindy Rudock and husband Randy of Maine, NY; LaVern Miles and wife Chris of Owego, NY; Shawn Miles and wife Georgia of Mint Hill, NC. She is also survived by her four grandchildren Michelle Miles, Samantha Shaffner and husband Curtis, Sara Keenan and husband John and Kevin Miles. Edith is survived by 2 great-grandchildren Oakland Shaffner and Bricen Shaffner along with one brother Glen Woodworth of San Jose, California. Edith attended 1 year of Practical Bible Training School and was a devout member of Graceway Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and would like to be remembered and being close to God. The family will have a Celebration of life on February 7th at 11AM at Graceway Baptist Church. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 10-11 at Graceway Baptist Church before the service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to Graceway Baptist Church located at 4700 Weddington Rd, Matthews, NC 28104. Heritage Funeral Home of Indian Trail is assisting the family.
