Emma Lou Baker

August 25, 1928 - February 19, 2022

Emma Lou Baker, age 93, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 at her home in Charlotte, NC. She was born on August 25, 1928 in Buck Creek, Missouri to parent’s Delbert Burkhart and Nova Ester Burkhart. A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 11:00AM-12:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home Indian Trail Chapel with a funeral service beginning at 12:00PM. Emma was married to Robert Harold Baker from 1945 until his passing in 2005 after only knowing each other for two weeks. She grew up in Missouri and moved to N.C when she married. Emma and Robert went on to live in Florida, Georgia and Tennessee during their marriage. She was a seamstress for Collectible Doll Company and a loving mother, grandma and homemaker. Emma was of the Christian faith and she always taught us that there is no greater love than Jesus’ love for us and the importance of being saved. She loved to piece quilts, draw nature pictures, read, cook and grow flowers. She always showed love and kindness to everyone she met. She is survived by her daughter Alisa Hanson, grandchildren; Heather Helms and husband Ty, Jeremy Baker and wife Frances, Misty Easter and husband George, Dorian Baker and wife Laura, Justin Baker, Tiara Baker, Hannah Baker, 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; family friend Joann Slone and grandson-in-law to be Nick Brown. In addition to her parents Emma is preceded in death by her loving husband Harold Baker, son David Baker, daughter Elaine Baker, granddaughter Nikki Baker and three brothers and four sisters. Pallbearers are Matthew Rumbold, Steve Rumbold, Aaron Rumbold, Nick Brown, Jeremy Baker and Colby Baker.
