Floyd Leonard Wheeler

December 21, 1941 - February 14, 2022

Floyd Leonard Wheeler, age 80, entered his eternal home on February 14, 2022, we rejoice that he is in the arms of Jesus, his Savior, he died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. Floyd attended West Mecklenburg High School and married the love of his life Betty Dyson Wheeler on, June 17, 1962, whom he loved and adored for 60 years. He was retired from Big Star and the City of Charlotte. Floyd never met a stranger, had an amazing laugh, he loved God, his family, and his church. He was member of Matthews Church of God in Matthews, NC. Floyd is survived by his beloved wife Betty (Dyson), his children and their spouses; Teri Carpenter (Tony), Cindy Crouch (Joe), Michelle Edwards (Mark), Len Wheeler (Lori), Sonya Greene (Randy). His grandchildren; Clint, Heather, Meghan, Amber, Madison, and Willow; and seven great-grandchildren; Cadence ,Daniel, Blake, LilyMae, Kinsley, Olivia and TJ and sister Elsie Rice. Also, Floyd enjoyed his four-legged companion Haus. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard Jess Wheeler and Rosie Vernell Wheeler and brother Lloyd. A gathering of friends and family will take place on Thursday February 17, 2022, from 12PM to 1PM at Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 1PM with Pastor Rick Brackett and Ron Dyson presiding. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn East Cemetery located at 3700 Forest Lawn Drive in Matthews, NC.
