Mrs. Gretchen Johnson Al-Koor, 68 years old of Pembroke, but lived in Charlotte, NC, entered eternal Life on Saturday, February 26, 2022. She was born February 13, 1954, in Robeson County, N.C. and was a 1972 graduate of Pembroke Senior High School. She also graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.. Mrs. Johnson Al-Koor was very devoted to her family, friends, and especially ALL the little ones. She enjoyed traveling all over the world, cooking, entertaining, and working in her garden. She had strong organization and attention to details and was a leader not a follower. She reserved special affection for her father and mother, all her sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The way she celebrated life was contagious and she will always be remembered for this! Gretchen was preceded in death by her father and mother, Hubert and Dovie Johnson (McGirt) of Pembroke, brothers Hubert Ray Johnson of Pembroke and Dewayne Johnson and Johnnie Johnson of Richmond, VA, sisters, Judy Hunt and Lisa Johnson of Pembroke. Survivors include her husband, Akram Al-Koor of Charlotte, brother Carl Arick Johnson of Richmond, VA, sisters, Patricia Johnson of Lumberton and Mattie Sue Johnson (Kookie) of Charlotte.
