    Janet Louise Wescott

    September 15, 1930 - February 15, 2022

    Janet Louise Wescott, age 91, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in Weddington, NC, after a long battle with dementia. She was born on September 15, 1930, to Walter and Catherine Wardle in Elizabeth, NJ. Janet is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Ronald William Wescott (formerly of Wayne, NJ) and her sister, Carolyn Wardle Saharayan (formerly of Boonton, NJ). Janet is survived by her sons Thomas Wescott and wife Lori of Flagstaff, AZ; Stephen Wescott and wife Helen of Sandyston, NJ; Timothy Wescott and wife Joanne of Weddington, NC; her grandchildren Kaitlyn Russell and husband AJ; Sean Wescott, Keith Wescott and wife Mary; Michelle Keuhlen and husband Travis; Lauren Edwards and husband Jason; Jennifer Courville and husband Jon; Bethany Smith and husband Andrew; Christopher Wescott and wife Mary; Marianna Wescott; and Melissa Wescott, her great grandchildren Lindsey Russell, Karissa Russell, Makenna Russell, Ella Wescott, Aiden Wescott, Archer Wescott, Athena Edwards, Haven Edwards, Colton Edwards, London Courville, Scotland Courville, Shiloh Smith, Joseph Wescott, and three more on the way. Janet lived most of her life in Wayne, NJ, but came from Paterson, NJ, the home of her parents, Walter and Catherine Wardle. During her life, Janet worked with NJ Bell Telephone Company and ShopRite. Most notably was working for the Wayne Township Police Department where she worked in Records with incident reports from the police officers and with the public looking for police reports. Janet was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Wayne and the Community Volunteer Fire Company #1 Women’s Auxiliary. A future memorial service will be held at Wayne United Methodist Church to honor the lives of both Janet and Ronald. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Memory & Movement Charlotte (mmclt.org), via online or mail at 300 Billingsley Road, Charlotte, NC 28211.
