Merle Brown Baker

November 3, 1930 - March 6, 2022

Merle Brown Baker, 91, Indian Trail, passed away on March 6, 2022 at Novant Matthews. She was born on November 3, 1930 in Jamesville, NC to the late Edith Hardison Brown and Thomas Hance Brown. Merle had many who loved her and she cherished every minute she had with family and friends as she never met a stranger. She enjoyed attending church at First Baptist Church of Indian Trail. Her husband, Roderick Baker, predeceased her and was awaiting her arrival in Heaven. Merle is survived by Son Brian Baker and wife Nancy and their two children: Sara Baker and her husband Joe Daniels, and Beau Baker and his wife Sabrina; and son Brad Baker and his wife Honor Hill Baker. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 12 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. with the funeral beginning at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Indian Trail. Burial will follow immediately at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews. Merle's family is compiling a Memory Book of special thoughts, activities and remembrances of her and welcomes everyone's contribution to this special collection of memories.
