    Moses Lauck Beall

    May 3, 1944 - April 6, 2021

    Moses Lauck (M.L.) Beall passed away in Charlotte, NC on April 6, 2021, at the age of 76. He was born in Martinsburg, WV, the son of Francis Brooke Beall and Virginia Mae Robbins Beall on May 3, 1944. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Clarksburg, WV in 1962. He attended Fairmont State College and graduated in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in History. Between 1966 and 1970 he served in the National Guard and also worked part-time at Mountain State Federal in Clarksburg, WV as an appraiser. He later progressed to Senior Vice President, directing lending operations. M.L. joined Monroe, NC-based Heritage Federal in 1987 as Vice President of the Commercial Loan Department and was retained by the Resolution Trust Corporation in 1989 where he worked with the RTC on receiverships of three failed Charlotte area Savings and Loans (S&L’s). In 1992, M.L. was named Vice President and asset-disposition coordinator for First Federal of Charlotte, NC. M.L. also owned and operated a contract air freight transportation business until he retired in 2011. M.L. enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, gardening, and was an avid reader. He loved his family and enjoyed many friendships throughout the years. M.L. is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda, of Matthews, NC; his brother F. Brooke Beall and sister-in-law Judy of Tampa, FL; his sister, Virginia Robbins Beall of Alexandria, VA; his son and daughter-in-law, Bly and Martha Windstorm of Port Townsend, WA; his daughter Tracey Beall Yoke of Lost Creek, WV; and his stepdaughter Tamara (Charles) Abel of Matthews, NC. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews and other family members who loved him dearly who will miss his wisdom and unmatched humor. The family invites friends and family to attend a celebration of M.L.'s life on Tuesday, May 3rd, 1 PM, at Heritage Funeral Home - Weddington Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn East Cemetery. Anyone unable to attend can watch a livestream of the service. This can be accessed the day of the service through the Photo and Videos tab in this obituary. The family also invites anyone to leave stories of M.L. through the Share a Memory tab or by uploading a photo.
