Myron Edward Kirwan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Kirwan, 92 of Stallings passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, at 3PM at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 8600 Potter Rd. Weddington NC 28104. His family will received friends for the hour preceding the service beginning at 2 PM. Burial will follow in the coming days next to his beloved wife, Faye Jean Kirwan in Mount Hope Cemetery, located in Imperial, Nebraska. Mike was born July 1, 1929 in Lexington, Nebraska to the late Kenneth and Alvera Youngquist Kirwan. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He received his Masters Degree in Natural Science from the University of Wyoming and went on the teach High School Chemistry and Physics for 29 years from 1965 to 1994. Family was most important to “Mike” and he had faith in Jesus Christ. He was the family photographer and vacations were traveling by car to visit family in Nebraska. Myron made home-made wine, loved to golf and garden. A great Dad, husband, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by many. In addition to his wife, Mike was predeceased by his children, Kathie Rae Kirwan, Michael Eugene Kirwan and Karl Raymond Kirwan; his siblings, Kenneth Arnold Kirwan, George Raymond Kirwan. His survivors include his children, Karen Weiner and husband Richard of Stallings, Kris Kirwan and wife Ana of Indian Trail; grandchildren, Chelsea Weiner, Grant Weiner, Jocelyn Weiner, Brian Kirwan and Katherine Kirwan; siblings, LaRoue Kirwan, Emil Kirwan, LaRae Drew, Maribell Irwin, and David Kirwan.
