Robert "Bobby" Joseph Grimaldi Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert Joseph Grimaldi, 63, Charlotte, passed away on February 23, 2022 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Born on October 20, 1958, in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Lorraine Griffin Grimaldi and Richard Grimaldi. Robert “Bobby” was a genuine son, father, brother, uncle, and friend with a warm and generous heart who never met a stranger. Originally from the Forest Avenue community in Staten Island, he was a self-taught chef who eventually opened Classic’s Diner upon moving to the Charlotte area. Bobby is most well-known as a commercial real estate entrepreneur and his “Silver Lake Realty” signs adorned many properties in the greater Charlotte Metro area. He also had a soft heart for the small business owner and his real estate knowledge helped launch hundreds of businesses for first-time investors. Anyone that knew him could tell he had a passion for live music, specifically country and classic rock genres, and loved seeing new artists find success in their talents. He also enjoyed following NASCAR, checking out classic cars, taking his boat for a cruise, and collecting special art pieces. Even still, family was at the center of his life and his love for them unwavering. Robert is survived by his daughter, Angelica Grimaldi; brother Richard Grimaldi; sister Maryanne DiMaggio (Tony); sister Lori McGrath (Jim); niece Jeannine and nephews Robert and Brendan. He also leaves behind four great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 4:00pm – 8:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home - Weddington Chapel, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Matthews, NC 28104. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 12:45 p.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church in the main church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC. Inurnment will be in the Prayer Garden at St. Matthew following Mass.
