Sally Ann Conklin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sally Ann Conklin, age 87, loving mother to seven and adoring wife to husband, the late Norman J. Conklin, Jr. passed away as she slept on May 12th, the eve of her 88th birthday. Sally Ann was born 1934 in Roxbury, Mass. Loving daughter of the late Roger and Ida (Barnett) Haskins. Namesake of her paternal grandmother, Sally Ann Owens, God daughter of Mary Holman and sister of Dorothy Haskins, Veronica McNeil, and the late Rogera Robinson, Irene Haskins Rogers and Roger Haskins. She met her husband Norman in 1953. They both shared a love for children and family and decided to start their own in 1955. Sally was strong, determined, spirited, joyful, loving, caring and always giving and incorporated all of that into her motherhood. General manager for the Conklin’s, model, teacher, civil rights activist, chef, chauffeur, comforter, beauty consultant, nurse, gardener and life coach. Sally loved to pray for her family during daily Catholic Mass, Rosary and the Chaplet of Devine Mercy. Sally will be dearly missed by her children, Mary Louise, Nancy Carol, Shirley Elaine, Jacqueline Frances, Judith Marie, Norman Jacob and Nina Jewel; her 7 grandchildren, Timothy and Markita Miller, Jermaine Bush, Briana and Tara Conklin, Cameron Smith, Asberry and Sarah Lawton, and 4 great-grandchildren, Timothy, Jr. (TJ), Zuri and Zoie Miller and Mila Bush along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. To meet her was to love her. To say final goodbyes, viewing services will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 4431 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079 on Wednesday, May 18 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. On Thursday, May 19 at 1:00 P.M. Catholic Funeral Mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28277. An internment in Cambridge, Mass; details to follow.
