Sang Ik Lee Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sang Ik Lee, 91, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on March 11, 2022. Sang was born on April 10, 1930 in Mokpo, South Korea, to the late Young Woo Lee and Hyun Kim. Sang attended Seoul National University from 1950-1953. During this time he also worked as a translator and interrogator for both the U.S. Marine Corp and also the U.S. Army. In 1953 he moved to Peoria, IL and finished his Bachelor of Science degree from Bradley University. From there Sang started attending the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and in 1958 he earned his MBA. After completing his MBA, Sang went to work for the Honeywell Computers Division as a Systems Analyst. From 1966-1972 he worked as a Systems Consultant for various companies, before moving to New York City in 1972 to be an executive with ITT Systems. In 1982 he founded the Lee Systems Group which he operated until 1996. From 1996 to 2002 he was a manager with TH International. And from 2002-2003 he helped lead a Church Planting in Timisoara, Romania. Sang was devoted in his Faith. He served as a Presbyterian Church of America Elder since 1982. He served at the Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia as well as Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, NC. Sang is survived by his loving wife Frances Ingels Lee. They were married in Manchester, Iowa on June 7, 1956. He is also survived by his children Mark Key Nam (Patricia) Lee and Andrea Mee Ryung Lee (Frank) Falino; as well as five grandchildren; Siena, Philip, and Nicholas Falino; Truman and Emma Lee. A Celebration of Sang's Life will be held on Tuesday, March 15th, 1 PM at Christ Covenant Church in Matthews.
