Barbara H. Calvert

February 6, 1936 - April 24, 2022

Barbara “Bobbie” Calvert went to be with the Lord and entered eternal rest on April 24, 2022, at 86 years of age. She joins her beloved husband, Richard Calvert Jr. who preceded her in death in 2008. Barbara was born to William and Joyce Harris on February 6, 1936, in Charlotte, North Carolina. After attending college at Queens University, she assumed many professional roles like modeling, accounting, office management, and even business ownership. Along the way, Barbara undeniably met the love of her life and quickly married to ultimately embark upon 52 wonderful years of marriage. In life, Barbara was easily defined by her beauty, her grace and her endless love for her family and friends. For many years, she was an active member at St. Stephens United Methodist Church in Charlotte and lived a Christian and Christ like life in words and actions. She was kind and patient, forgiving and generous. She enjoyed growing different types of plants and flowers in her backyard, cooking meals for her family, and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchild grow. Barbara is survived by her 2 children, Laura Calvert and Richard Calvert III, her grandchildren, Kimberly Sailors Linens, Alex Lay-Calvert and Andrea Calvert and her great-granddaughter, Laney Linens as well as her 2 brothers Larry Harris and Steve (Darlene) Harris. Barbara will be honored in ceremony on Friday April 29, 2022, at 12pm at Forest Lawn West. Floral arrangements may be sent to Forest Lawn West in Charlotte, North Carolina. Donations may also be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
