Ed Threatt, age 81, of Indian Trail, North Carolina passed peacefully from this world on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 at Novant Charlotte with children Patti and Jimmy at his side. By his faith, he entered into the presence of Jesus healthy, whole, strong, and joyous. Born on December 4th, 1940 to the late Miner Edison and Ruth Rorie Threatt, Ed was preceded in death by his sister Johnnie T. Hendrix, Father-in-law Buck Pigg, and brother-in-law Dr. Buddy Pigg. Surviving sisters are Shirlie Jones of Charlotte and Bonnie Helms of Marshville. After Graduating from Union Highschool, Ed honorably served his county in the U.S. Army in Germany. he soon entered the automobile service and dealership industry where he remained until his retirement from Bob Mayberry of Monroe. For the past 38 years, Ed was best friend and loving husband to Nancy Pigg Threatt. You would often find these two engaged in home improvements and landscaping their home in Indian Trail. Ed always enjoyed participating in and observing sports since his high school days. whether competing on the basketball and baseball teams or later on the golf course, he was always competitive and encouraged the same from others. An avid Carolina Panthers and Clemson fan, he loved attending games with family and friends. Ed Leaves behind many long time Golfing buddies and his two fur buddies Sidney and Oliver. In addition to his wife Nancy, left to honor and cherish his memory are daughter Pattie Parker and her husband Marty, son Jimmy Threatt and his wife Leigh, and stepdaughter Cari Stackpole and her significant other Robin. He was a loving grandfather to Jerica Usher and her husband Trent, Jantzen Plyler, Jodie Pate, and her husband Brandon, Luke Threatt, and Olivia Threatt. Holding a very special place in his heart are great-grandchildren Major, Captain, and Baze Usher and little saylor pate. Memorial Service for Ed will be Thursday, January 13th at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail, conducted by Rev. Tim Madaris.
