    Tonya Marie Breen

    July 21, 1978 - August 27, 2021

    Tonya Marie Breen passed away on August 27, 2021 in Charlotte, NC. Tonya was a devoted wife and a loving mother of two boys. Tonya was born July 21, 1978 in Georgia. She was a graduate of Appalachian State University, as well as Mercy School of Nursing. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority at Appalachian State. Tonya was a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital Emergency Room as well as a wellness nurse at the YMCA in Matthews, NC. She left nursing in 2009 to take care of her two boys and home. Tonya was incredibly creative and artistic. She always loved arts and crafts and even started a small business selling her homemade jewelry that she designed and crafted herself. She was a very active member at Carmel Baptist Church where she took leadership roles through her discipleship community class. Her family and friends were drawn to her wisdom, sense of humor and compassion. Tonya made an impact on nearly everyone she met. She had a huge heart. Tonya was always looking for people to help and share her kind, generous and loving spirit with. She was incredibly upbeat and positive, always remaining full of hope and optimism. Her love for the Lord was evident and she shared her faith with so many. Tonya was one of a kind with a beautiful inner spirit and soul. She loved her two sons and husband dearly. She is survived by her husband of fifteen years, Kevin; children Conlin age 13 and Nolen age 12. She is also survived by her Father, Tim Dearman, Stepmother, Cindy Dearman and mother, Mari Lane; Grandmothers, Arlene Connor and Mary Jean Dearman; sister, Stacy Dearman; step-sister, Mandy Rollins; and brother, Eric Dearman. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her kindness and loving heart. Family was the closest thing to her heart. A Celebration of Tonya’s life will be held at 4PM on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Carmel Baptist Church, 1145 Pineville Matthews Road, Matthews, NC 28105. Memorials can be made to Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke Hospital. An online guestbook is available at www.heritagecares.com.
